An experienced journalist, award-winning filmmaker and artist, and researcher with a track record at leading community events and organizations whilst being passionate about storytelling and science communication that leads to impact.

Hi! My name is Teresa Fang, a high school student from Chapel Hill, NC, and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM). Starting in middle school, journalism has served as the defining journey leading to my love for painting and filmmaking, engaging in civics, and sharing science communication and stories about the humanities. Now, my work can be seen as stories in NCSSM’s student newspaper, local media, and national online platforms to documentaries/films in festivals and competitions. When I’m not making paintings of people’s experiences and social issues, I’m developing a global climate model for sea level rise and glacier melting using the global positioning system (GPS). Off campus, I dedicate much of my time to organizing events for my home and school community, working with leaders to involve city and education plans that center on equity, conversation, and diversity, and telling the extraordinary stories of the people around me.

A clue about my story can be seen in the videos below.
